Elzévir developed over several years, Saint-Etienne, a painting might be termed "anthropological" . A "human comedy" generous and humorous, sensitive and critical at a time, that the artist painted with quick strokes on large wood panels. Married, grannies, bathing, body-builders ... The figures are giants because all caricature is enormous. The result? (...) Portraits sometimes without concession, but without malice either. The Elzévir's people : humanity, as in itself, without distinction.
